Antibiotic-resistant bacteria found in ancient cave could create new drugs
Doctors had assumed bacteria became resistant to antibiotics after repeated exposure to them. However, the cave discovery in New Mexico suggests the source of resistance could actually come from other harmless bacteria in the environment.
