It seems that Nissan Europe has all the fun, and just maybe, all the crazy. When they built the Juke-R, that was a head-turner but it was still Earthly, at least a little bit. The Juke Box is just plain nuts. Working with dance music icons Ministry of Sound and Martin Audio, the trio created a Juke with a specially fabricated sound system to provide the same aural intensity found within The Box at 2 a.m. - The Box being the Ministry of Sound's especially fabricated room-within-a-room at its Covent Garden club said to have the world's best acoustics (and a specially sprung floor to reduce dancer fatigue).
After doing a tour of Europe with its 19-kilowatt system and 150 dB of brain crushing strength, the Juke Box is going on sale. Three thousand of them will be available to customers starting in September, in either Metallic Black and Solid White or exteriors with exclusive trim like white wheels, door handles and center console. An Apple iPod Touch preloaded with Nissan and Ministry of Sound video and music content will also be a part of the program. Nissan hasn't said how much the Juke Box package will add, but it can be added to any engine and drivetrain combo.
The model will be officially introduced at the 2012 Moscow International Auto Salon later this month. In the meantime, there's a press release below with more details and a couple of videos explaining how it was all done.
