Motorist rescued after skidding on black ice in Hallen

A motorist had to be rescued from a water-filled rhyne by firefighters after skidding on black ice in Hallen, South Gloucestershire, today.
Crews stabilised the vehicle off Severn Road using a winch while the occupant was helped to safety at 8.05am.
Another vehicle had skidded to the edge of the rhyne while a third was already in the water from an earlier accident.
